Snoreplasty

Diet:
Eat and drink as you normally do. Avoid salty, spicy or hot foods for two weeks after surgery

Activity:
Resume your normal activities.

Medications:
Discomfort is usually by Tylenol (acetaminophen), Motrin or Advil (ibuprofen).

If you require stronger medication for discomfort, fill the prescription given and take as needed. Follow directions carefully.

Follow-up:
Return to the office 6-8 weeks after treatment. Call for an appointment.

Work/School:
You may return today.

Information:
Your palate initially will be purple/blue at the injection site. In 2-4 days, the area will become white, then develop a reddish circle around the injection site. It then may develop a white/gray color prior to healing completely. This process occurs over 4-5 weeks and is normal.

Call the doctor for bleeding from the mouth or fever over 101 degrees.

Throat discomfort is normal, and may worsen in the first three days after surgery. This discomfort will reduce over the first two weeks after surgery.

Ear pain or discomfort is normal, does not signify an ear infection, and will reduce over the first 2 weeks after surgery.

Lump, mucus or gagging sensation in the throat is normal after surgery and is expected to resolve over the first 4 weeks after surgery.
