A native Phoenician, Dr. Heiland graduated from Brophy College Prep and continued his education at Santa Clara University. He received his medical degree from the University of Arizona. He completed his five year residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University Hospital. While at Stanford, Dr. Heiland published his middle ear research in the American Journal of Otology as first author.
Dr. Heiland’s practice encompasses the full scope of his specialty training in adult and pediatric medical and surgical ENT problems. He provides the safest and most up to date procedures. As a member of VEBA, the vestibular association, Dr. Heiland also treats balance problems.
Dr. Heiland is committed to giving back to his community. He is a member of the volunteer staff at the St. Vincent de Paul Free Medical Clinic since 1999. His medical and surgical expertise is provided for their patients.
Dr. Heiland has been named a Phoenix Magazine “Top Doctor” for the last six years. In 2010, Dr. Heiland received the magazine’s highest honor given to a single physician from each specialty.
While not working, he most enjoys his wife and four children. He is avid outdoorsman and has hiked all but three of the named trails in the Grand Canyon. He enjoys travel, water sports, working on antique automobiles, and has a love of animals.
