Audiology is the science of hearing. An audiologist performs hearing testing in patients with hearing loss, ear infections, and ringing in the ears. With improvement in technology, audiology has also come to include the science of the balance portion of the inner ear. An audiologist often tests patients with balance problems, or "vertigo."

Since otolaryngologists treat patients with these problems, audiologists often team with otolaryngologists by performing tests of the inner ear, obtaining vital information which helps

the otolaryngologist treat the patient. In addition, many audiologists sell and service hearing aids and related assistive listening devices for the telephone, TV, and special listening situations. They are trained to service all age populations, from birth to young adults to senior citizens.

Valley ENT has state-of-the-art equipment to test patient hearing as well as those who are having dizziness and balance problems.
